Description

Dr. Ir. Soekarno Bridge is a new 1.127 km bridge in the shore of Manado Bay, this bridge connects Boulevard I to Boulevard II as part of Manado Outer Ring Road located in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The construction started in October 2003 and the bridge has been opened since May 2015, the pre-stressed concrete bridges were constructed cast-in-situ using the balanced cantilever method with form travellers. This area is well known for its high seismic activity and strong seasonal wind, due to this environmental conditions Structural Health Monitoring System was required.

Central part of the bridge 417 meters long using cable stay system and prestressed deck, connected to 240 meters of box girder and additional approach around 200 meters of elevated road on each end.

Scope of Works

Freyssinet is responsible to install the cable stay structures including the monitoring system. This includes technical support from design package to shop drawings, safety assessment, and establishment of equipment required for cable stay installation.

The installation including 11 pairs of cable stay structure with total tonnage of 130 tonnes of stay cable and 88 nos anchorage.
